‘You lied, charge my father to court, prove he’s a thief’ – El-Rufai’s son to ICPC

Kaduna Lawmaker Challenges ICPC’s Claims Against His Father
Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North and son of former governor Nasir El-Rufai, has called upon the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to formally charge his father with theft in response to the commission’s recent claims.
Bello’s remarks followed an ICPC report detailing items recovered from Nasir El-Rufai’s residence in Abuja during a raid. The commission stated that various documents and electronic devices were seized as part of their investigation.
In a post on social media platform X, Bello countered the ICPC’s assertions, stating, “Let me correct it for you. ICPC confirmed that they lied after I denied their so-called reports.” He urged the commission to take legal action to substantiate their allegations against his father.
Bello asserted that any efforts to discredit his family would be met with persistent opposition. “No media campaign will succeed as long as I am around by the grace of God. I will counter it day and night,” he stated.
The ICPC’s claims remain unproven, and the legal implications of their report have yet to unfold.
