Reason your state is underdeveloped – Isaac Fayose on alleged diversion of N800bn for 2027

Nigerian Businessman Criticizes Allegations of Fund Diversion by APC
LAGOS, Nigeria – Isaac Fayose, a prominent businessman, has voiced strong disapproval of allegations that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is connected to the purported diversion of 800 billion naira from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) recently accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governors from the APC of misappropriating these funds to support Tinubu’s re-election efforts.
This alleged financial misconduct is said to have contributed to tensions within the Progressive Governors Forum, precipitating a rift among its members.
In a video posted on his official Facebook page, Fayose asserted that such acts of financial mismanagement are a major reason for the widespread underdevelopment in many Nigerian states. He called on citizens to be vigilant and consider voting against the APC in the upcoming 2027 elections.
Fayose stated, “During campaigns, they are seen distributing rice and envelopes, using public funds to entice voters. They claimed that 32 APC governors contributed to the 800 billion naira for Tinubu’s campaign. This is disheartening. At this rate, they might as well sell Nigeria and divide the profits among themselves.”
He further cautioned that a continuation of APC governance would worsen the challenges facing the country, urging Nigerians to take action. “If you allow this APC government to return to power, conditions will deteriorate. It is time to wake up.”
