Kano State Police Recover Four Stolen Vehicles
The Kano State Police Command announced the recovery of four stolen motor vehicles, which have been returned to their rightful owners.
These recoveries resulted from intelligence-led operations and public cooperation, aligning with the directives of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, according to a statement from the police.
CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer, noted that the operations were conducted under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori. The vehicles were recovered during a period from August 1 to September 1, 2026.
Among the recoveries, operatives from the Dala Area Command apprehended Surajo Usman Ubale and seized a suspected stolen Dangote trailer head with registration number BKD 350 XB. Additionally, officers from the Dawakin Kudu Division collaborated with their counterparts in Datty Division, Lagos, to trace and retrieve a Toyota Matrix (registration number ABJ 398 CG), which had been reported stolen. The vehicle was returned to Muftahu Mohammed Ola of Minna.
In another operation, Market Division utilized technical intelligence to arrest Abba S. Adam, recovering a maroon Hyundai Sonata, 2016 model, with registration number GWA93DW, which had been taken from Kaduna. The vehicle was returned to its owner, Abubakar Muhammed Nura.
The Command’s Special Intervention Squad arrested Yunusa Mohammed, 33, and Muhammad Sani, 44, recovering a golden Honda Civic (registration number ABJ 232 EY), valued at N1,500,000, which was stolen in Sharada. This vehicle has been returned to its female owner.
All suspects have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crimes. They will face charges in court upon completion of ongoing investigations. Authorities are also working to apprehend additional members of the suspected theft syndicate who remain at large.
