EPL: Managers to take over from Liam Rosenior at Chelsea identified

Chelsea Management Eyes Potential Successors to Rosenior Amid Turbulent Times

Chelsea Football Club has begun to identify potential successors for manager Liam Rosenior following a series of disappointing performances.

The team’s recent 3-0 loss to Brighton on Tuesday night sparked frustration among fans, many of whom called for Rosenior’s dismissal. This defeat at the Amex Stadium marked a historic low for Chelsea, as it represented the first time since 1912 that the club had suffered five consecutive league defeats without scoring.

During the match, supporters vocalized their discontent not only towards Rosenior but also the club’s ownership, with chants directed at the manager echoing throughout the second half.

Chelsea’s current position in the Premier League has dipped to seventh, leaving them seven points behind fifth-placed Liverpool and significantly hindering their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Despite the team’s exit from the Champions League last month at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, management initially showed no inclination to terminate Rosenior’s contract. He took over the managerial role from Enzo Maresca in January. However, if performance does not improve, mounting pressure from fans could lead the ownership to reconsider their stance.

Looking ahead, Chelsea has an opportunity to shift momentum as they prepare to face Leeds United in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on Sunday.

Betfair bookmakers have listed Rosenior as the frontrunner to retain his position into the next season. Filipe Luis, who had discussions with the club regarding a transfer earlier this year, is the second favorite with odds of 5/2. Cesc Fabregas, currently managing Como in Serie A, follows at 4/1, while Oliver Glasner, set to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season, is at 9/2.

Additional candidates rumored to be in consideration include Xavi Hernandez, Roberto De Zerbi, Marco Silva, Unai Emery, Andoni Iraola, Frank Lampard, Fabian Hurzeler, Luis Enrique, Xabi Alonso, and Julian Nagelsmann.
